The ruins of Ephesus, on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, are one of Turkey's must-sees. So even though we've nearly overdosed on ruins, we had to travel to Selcuk, from where we would explore this classic city.
The facade of the Library of Celsus, one of the trademarks of Ephesus. It was built in the 2nd century.
Any self-respecting Roman city will have a theatre. This one was large--seating roughly 25,000 in its day.
Hanging out in the ruins.
One of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World was the Temple of Artemis. Today, all that stands (in the foreground) is a solitary column. Oh well.
Our last stop in Turkey was Istanbul.
